In the name of the Rose. Years ago we had the church. That was only a way of saying- we had each other. It has become the place where people catch up and exchange news. It reinforces a sense of identity, a sense of belonging. Work done at Westminster University, 2010.

Sunday, January 07, 2007. Beyond that last restaurant the road wound around the mountains, following a large river that was heavy with ice. On the other side we could see little villages hugging the smaller peaks. Inside the gorge, after not seeing people for a good half an hour, there were little tourist stands.
